Thought on The Inauguration

An Irish Catholic man and his wife who holds a doctorate in Education.

A woman of African and Indian decent and her Jewish husband who don't share a last name.

A new cabinet secretary and his husband.

A Black woman fire fighter labor leader leading and signing the pledge of allegiance.

A Latina Supreme Court Justice.

A queer icon named Gaga smashing the national anthem.

A Latina singing patriotic songs and speaking in Spanish.

A woman serving as host of the ceremony.

A Black police officer cheered for saving members of the Congress.

A white country singer asking the nation to sing in unity.

A young Black poet speaking for so many of us.

A Black preacher leading a national flock.

It's like someone looked at my friends list and decided to make it government. I may not agree with all his policies but this is a great moment. This is also exactly what those terrorists were trying to prevent two weeks ago.
